About Me
My beginnings in the world of horticulture began from a young age with me helping my parents and grandparents on their allotments as well as loving spending time pottering around in our greenhouse at home, being amazed at how such wonderous plants would grow from such tiny seeds.
On leaving school I spent my next 3 years of education at horticultural college where I learnt from some of the best tutors around all with many years of practical experience in the world of gardening.
While at college I had practical work experience at a local large tree and shrub nursery where I went on to work for the next 9 years homing my skills at plant identification and running the propagation unit.
Having always wanted to work on private estates I moved on to a large estate as assistant head gardener, covering every aspect of gardening possible working alongside my head gardener, finally taking on the head gardener role, a very proud moment.
After 20 years it was time for a change moving to my current large estate where I continue to work with the passion the job creates and demands.
I have always enjoyed being able to share my many years of knowledge with others, so setting up this website as a garden adviser seems the next logical step hopefully being able to help other gardeners overcome the issues and challenges that we all face when it comes to dealing with mother nature.
